Slow Cooker Apple Cider Meatballs

The slow cooker can be your best friend. It's so nice to throw something in, forget about it for a few hours, and then voila - your dish is ready! I typically do your usual cocktail meatballs that involve chili sauce and grape jelly, but I wanted to try something with some fall flair. I found this recipe online and decided to give it a try. It turned out great and there were no meatballs left! Excuse the photo, as I didn't take these out of the slow cooker for their photo op. They were all gone before I could do so!

Ingredients:

~50 beef meatballs (turkey would also work in this recipe)

2 cups apple cider

1/2 cup maple syrup

3 tb apple cider vinegar

2 apples, cored and chopped

Directions:

Spray the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray or use a liner (I LOVE the liners). Turn the slow cooker on to low. Place the meatballs in the slow cooker. Combine the apple cider, maple syrup, and apple cider vinegar. Pour evenly over the meatballs. Place the apples on top and seal the lid. Cook on low for 4-8 hours. Turn to warm after that. Serve with extra apples if desired.
