Oven Baked Buffalo Wings with Homemade Ranch
What says football more than buffalo wings? Especially when the Buffalo Bills are in the playoffs! I decided to make oven baked buffalo wings in an attempt to be a little more healthy, and they turned out great and crispy! I also threw in some homemade ranch for good measure. These were super easy to make and didn't take much time. I'd definitely recommend for game day eats, or for any occasion because buffalo wings are just delicious any time! Note: this was just for the 2 of us, so you'll need to increase the amount of chicken if serving these for a crowd.
Ingredients:
Chicken Wings
~2 lbs chicken wings and drumsticks
~ 3/4 cup flour (you can eyeball this)
salt and pepper, to taste
nonstick cooking spray or canola oil
buffalo sauce (I use Moore's because I think it's delicious)
Ranch
1/2 cup light mayo
3/4 cup reduced fat sour cream
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tb fresh dill, chopped
1/2 tb fresh chives, chopped
1/2 tsp fresh parsley
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Take a baking sheet with a rack and spray with nonstick cooking spray to coat the rack, or rub with canola oil. You may also line the bottom of the baking sheet with foil for easier clean up. Rinse and pat dry the chicken. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss in a ziploc bag with the flour to coat. Shake off the excess flour. Place the chicken on the rack and bake for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and flip the chicken. Bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and toss in the buffalo sauce. Serve with the ranch and celery sticks.
Ranch - mix all ingredients together.
