Buffalo Turkey Burgers

Happy Tuesday, folks! For those that know me well, it's no secret that I love anything buffalo sauce related -- it's a problem. Well, this recipe is a healthy spin on getting those buffalo flavors, but without fried things! These could be served on wheat/multi-grain buns like we did, or you can even eat them without a bun, or throw on a salad or in a bowl. The options are endless! Give these a try - you won't regret it. I can't wait for the leftovers! Unfortunately, I didn't have lettuce, tomato, etc. on hand, so we went without those things. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 1/4 lb ground turkey (I used 99% but 93% would probably be juicier)

1/4 cup hot sauce (I used my friend's homemade hot sauce which is...amazing)

1/3 cup grated carrots (I used my mini chopper)

1/3 cup grated celery

1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs (you can use whole wheat as well)

1 clove garlic, grated or minced

1 tb onion, minced

dash of salt and pepper

cooking spray

Toppings (optional):

buns of your choice

bleu cheese, crumbled

Ranch

more hot sauce!

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, hot sauce, carrots, celery, breadcrumbs, garlic, onion, salt and pepper. Form into 6 patties. Cook in a skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of your patties. Flip and cook for another 5 minutes or so. You could also grill these, which would be delicious. When done, toast your buns and place the burger with your favorite toppings. Serve with extra carrots and celery!
